So it would appear that I have taken on several more mini-jobs. I'm now going to be tutoring 2 people (one in Java, the other in Math). Today, I'll be picking up a laptop in need of care and working on another North High School teacher's PC. I was also contacted recently about helping out another teacher with Java. My hands are starting to get full, hopefully the PC work will go quickly and without pain. The blog project is still progressing, although to tell the total truth, I haven't touched it for a week. I'm going to get back on task with it in the next few days, probably Tuesday. Fear not, sometimes you gotta take time off from programming to clear your mind.

If anyone is interested in helping with the blog project, please e-mail me. It's okay if you're not sure what you can do, some of the most valuable contributors are testers, idea people, and suggestions. Perhaps if several of you are interested, we could gather over food and discuss it. If necessary, it could become a routine meeting.

If you haven't already and you'd like to, sign up for some of the local Meetups. By going to the site and signing up, you'll be informed about when and where certain people are meeting to discuss certain issues. Some of these issues include: anime, blogs, slashdot, linux, goth, vampire, etc. If this sounds interesting, here's how it works. You sign up. They (computer) e-mail you a link to vote on the place of the meeting. Typical meeting places are: Pennylane, local bookstores, coffee shops, diners, etc. Then after you vote, the majority vote decides the location. The meetings are preset dates (e.g. The 20th of every month) usually at 7pm or so. Then if 5 or more people are signed up and vote, the meeting happens. If it's not enough people, you will receive another e-mail telling you it has been cancelled. I'd like for more people to sign up for anime and blogs. It's a cool way to meet new people face to face and discuss common interests in the safety of the public eye. I think you have to be 16 to sign up.

My apologies for the belated post. This will be fairly long, so if you're in a hurry, you might want to come back later and read it.

Today, I went to North and got the paperwork for my new job as Night School teacher. This will be every Monday from 5:30-8:30pm. It pays $18/hour, but keep in mind it's only 3 hours per week. Extra change, I suppose. I love teaching, so I'm pleased. The class will be taught very liberally, as I'm expected to start where the students are currently at, and teach at the students' pace.

I have been doing lots of side computer work lately, and so far most of it is virus related. Check your PCs, people! Don't forget to run defrag and scandisk once every couple of months or so.

I'm pleased to announce that my friend Andrew is starting work on a webpage. Hopefully, I can help him out a bit with the inner-workings and code. He has the graphics and appearance departments covered, if I haven't mentioned before, he's a great artist.

Today, I received lots of goodies in the mail! Several anime boxsets (complete Slayers series [3 boxsets]), a 5 Crazy Guys mug (even though it's now defunct) for fond memories, and another programming book to supplement the one I received the other day. Both of the programming books are written by Michael Abrash. The man has mad ninja skills, or at least heroic programming abilities. I should strive to be just like him. Even though the books are a little dated, they cover lots of assembly language and hardware graphics programming concepts. These are going to be key if I ever get my Operating System project off the ground.

Kristina's birthday was on Friday, but since she had to work, we celebrated on Saturday (with friends) and Sunday (with Family). It was fun and I think she had a really good time. Karaoke Revolution is a great game, I'm looking forward to having people over to play again soon.

I still need to talk to Norm at AAA Auto Parts about possibly working out an arrangement on a new (to me) car. It's not like I'm in dire need of one, but this would be an opportune time to make it happen. Besides, who wants to wait until they're carless before getting another one?

Aaron Carnal mentioned going to grab some food, so hopefully he'll write back soon to finalize the plans. It's great to see my old students and find out what they're up to. Too bad I don't get more lunch invites. Speaking of old students, I see Mike Virgin every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at USI. Everytime I go to my English 201 class, I see him in the Liberal Arts building. He's a happy guy. I also need to help Tim and Billy out with some Java for the state competition. I want to see both of those guys go to nationals. If they make it, I'm going this year, because the national competition is going to be held in ... Cincinnati! Close enough for me to attend!

Well, that's all for now, but I should be updating again soon.
