Yes, you heard right! Today at 2:00pm at Target on 1st Avenue, I proposed to Kristina over the store PA system! My heart was racing so fast, I thought I was going to have a coronary! The engagement ring is already going through the resizing process (damn jewelry stores!). Just thought you'd all like to know! If you have any warm wishes, by all means we'd love to hear from you!
Details Update: She was on the clock and filling in for a cashier... I went into the store and asked Christine at the service desk if I could use the PA to propose. She asked an executive named Melissa, who came up and asked me what the deal was. I told her what I wanted to do and she said, "Well, it would probably have to be before or after the store closes." I told her that that would not work, because I was proposing today, and she asked the store manager, who said yes. Finally, they went over and told her she was needed at the service desk, and when she got about 10 feet away from me, I clicked on the PA, and the following words were uttered: "Attention: Target shoppers and employees. Today I am proposing to my girlfriend, (voice trembles, verge of tears) Kristina Rousey. ... (kneeled down on one knee) Kristina, will you marry me? (extends the engagement ring purchased just 30 minutes prior)" And she said "Yes," into the microphone and was hugging me so tightly I could not breathe. ^_^ Afterwards, people congratulated us, hugged us, and cheered. I felt like we were celebrities. They told her she could go home early, and we left immediately to have the ring re-sized. She only got to have it for about an hour before it was sent off. She called her mom back (who called right before I asked her, when she was walking over to the service desk) and told her... she asked "Why didn't you tell me that 5 minutes ago?!" Today was truly a great day.
