Crazy Stuff

Several insane things have happened in the last 2 days. Saturday at 4:00pm, one hour before the tuxedo shop closed, my car broke down. Of course, I realized that while I'm in a desperate rush to get there before closing time. Andrew and I's tuxes were both free, even though mine was the only one that was supposed to be. My brother, in an attempt to help a friend out, bought an air conditioner from 2 shady guys downtown for $20. It sat on the porch for the majority of the day until the guy was supposed to come pick it up. A few hours had passed, and my landlord decided to help me out with the car problems I was having. As we're working on the car, the same two guys walk by us carrying some speakers and jumper cables and of course would like to know if we would like to buy them. Now I don't think I need to point out the obvious here. We now depart from the vehicle. I went back upstairs to my apartment, my brother went to a friend's house around the corner, and the landlord went back inside. Twenty to thirty minutes pass, my doorbell rings. It's my brother and the guy who needed the conditioner. They ask, "Where is it?" I look past both of them, only to realize that the A/C unit is gone. I thought it was a joke, like perhaps they had already picked up the unit, because my brother frequently jokes like that. Nope, somebody had stolen it. Now, while we're standing around stewing about what we think has happened (hopefully it should be painfully obvious what we think happened), the 2 guys walk by again! Now I was worried. My brother tried to help somebody out, and instead came off looking like he set his own friend up for $20. My brother walked out to the middle of the street and asked if they had seen and air conditioner. This was bad, I could see where it was going. Then he explained to them that the A/C unit was gone. "For real?! Oh shit, it is gone! (searches around the porch) Did he take it upstairs already? Did that guy in the truck (my landlord giving my car a jumpstart) take it?" I said, "I don't think so. He's the landlord and lives in THIS house." My brother was furious and the moron decides to start yelling really loud, accusing them of stealing it and pulls a long buck knife out. Fortunately, the other guys were not armed with anything and left pretty quickly. I was so pissed, because cops drive up and down my street all night, as I live 5-6 blocks from a police substation. He could have gone to jail, could have been hurt, or worse yet killed. Now they know what kind of car I drive because they saw us working on it. Now here I am leaving for a week, not knowing if they are going to seek some kind of revenge on my vehicle. For all I know, they thought it was my brother's car. I'm still pissed. Well, I gotta run, I have tons of stuff to do today. Hopefully, I'll see most of you at the wedding.
