Today I offered extra credit to my Visual Basic students for setting up a Blog. Many have done just that. I hope they realize what a useful thing it can be. It's remarkable how much I've forgotten about myself just by going back and reading some old posts. Currently, I'm scraping the proverbial barrel for money, so it looks like a shut-in night with some video rentals. I have some papers to grade, so it looks like I'll have my work cut out for me. I only have 5 days of teaching left after today (not including an additional 2 Java Workshops). Well, I hope I taught well, and with any luck I've helped my students reach a greater understanding of programming and college (and anime). Signing off... buh'bye.

Oh yeah, here is my Java tutorial link (a work in progress).
Today, I went to Central library for their showing of "Castle of Cagliostro". Although, if I would have been the purist anal-retentive high-school otaku there, I suppose I would have told you that I watched "Kariosutoro No Shiro". At any rate, the film was excellent as always. I also finished making several Java classes for use in a card game. Specifically, I made: Suit, Card, and Deck objects. They work nicely now, and after I got the Deck's vector working properly, things are 'tute sweet. I decided to actually read a "Read Me" file today for Nullsoft's (those guys are a riot) Winamp3. It's only 2 sentences, but here is the quote of interest:

"Start Winamp3 via whatever method you prefer. That would mean either clicking the quickstart icon, the desktop icon, or by projecting your awesome mutant powers onto a nearby human and exploding their brain in such a way as to cause variations in the sunspot cycle which causes in turn a freakish burst of neutrinos to blast forth from the sun's molten innards (the advanced student can use a nearby star and a buttload of patience) flipping a bit in your computers Instruction Pointer (usually referred to as IP except on the SPARC platform which uses the notation PC, for Program Counter) causing it to jump to the part of Windows that is secretly programmed in at the last second that causes it to feel remorse for sucking so damned bad and always crashing and deleting all your work right when you were JUST ABOUT to hit Save, no really you were, and while wallowing in this black pit of despair and self-loathing it hits it, hey, I know what would make the world a better place, if I was running Winamp 3.0, and it does."
