Erlanger Trip

Looks like we're headed out to good ol' Erlanger, KY this weekend. Most people won't recognize the city of Erlanger, next-door neighbor of Cincinnati, home of chili and Tae Kwon Do. This makes for the great possibility of a new breed of baseball player... a Cincinnati Farting Red Ninja. Okay, enough of my stupidity. Seriously though, I have never seen a city with so many chili restaurants and Tae Kwon Do dojos (Mojo Jojo, added for poetic flair). We shall be gone until Sunday, from the looks of it. I think we're gonna get a hotel room instead of staying at Andrew's place. They have a guest room and everything, but it's asking a lot to stay at someone's house for a couple nights. I think we're leaving at 5:00pm tomorrow (Friday), so posting may be light or non-existant this weekend. Updates and photos from the trip will be added to the blog and photo album. Also, stay tuned for progress on my upcoming web project (Yes, I have lots of projects, but this one has been started and is coming along nicely). If it gets finished, it could bring about income! Yippee!

Grandfather in Hospital

Today I received the unfortunate news that my grandfather is not exactly doing well. Doctors think he may be suffering from congestive heart failure. What started as difficulty in breathing, resulted in a doctor visit, which led to an ambulance trip to the hospital. Currently, his condition is considered good, although nothing about having fluid around your heart is good. He is now breathing better, and I am unsure of what treatment(s) may be in the works. He had better get well, dammit. Granddaddy (as I have called him since I was a wee lad) is a great man. He has always been kind, never talks poorly of people, and most importantly one of the funniest men alive. I can honestly say without exaggeration that I have always looked up to him. He has never been one of those spoil-all-the-grandkids types either. I admire everything about him, and pray that our kids (when we have them) will get the pleasure of knowing their great grandfather. Honesty, integrity, humility, kindness, honor, and heart do not begin to scratch the surface of his character. I am praying for you.
Wedding Music?

Just finished dying Kristina's hair, so I'm waiting for the rinse and final results. This morning I had one of those awesome Steak Egg 'N Cheese Bagels from McDonald's. Yum. I've been thinking about what to put on the music compilation for the wedding. I've got a few definites with personal meaning, but I'm searching for some other good tunes as well. Nothing hard though, because this is our wedding, and we're trying to keep the mood charming. In other words, I won't be playing any of my NIN collection or Super Junky Monkey. Wordless selections would be nice, although not a necessity. Ideas?

Change in Honeymoon Plans?

Well, just when we started to get a feel for what we might do on the honeymoon, Kristina went off and won a contest. The prize? An all-inclusive vacation for 2 (3 days/2 nights) to either the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, or one of 21 US destinations (Honolulu is one of the options). It's still hard to believe, so check back for the final word. It was a contest held by 96 STO and superbride.com. We are going to a free dinner tonight at the Holiday Inn where a couple things will happen. First, we will bear witness to what I am assuming will be the most awesome demonstration of cookware ever. After said demonstration, we will eat and enjoy the food. Finally, we should know more about the prize we have won. Details tonight at midnight.

Update: We chose the Bahamas/Dominican Republic package, and received it complete without a cookware demonstration. There were supposed to be 2 other couples there for the demonstration, but since they didn't show up, the lady was like, "Normally, this doesn't happen, but when it does I usually just give you the vacation and send you on your way." We will probably go to the demonstration tomorrow for 2 reasons. 1) For a free chicken dinner, and 2) To get a new certificate for the vacation, because she improperly dated the year on our certificate. And I thought I'd never get to see anything outside the US (Canada doesn't count).

Well...damn

Yesterday, I tried to go see my aunt's wedding in Morganfield, KY. The problem with that comes in when I let my uncle handle the travel timeline. We got there 10 minutes late, at the very end of the ceremony, and rather than open the church doors during the "kiss the bride" part, we decided to just wait outside 2-3 minutes for everything to wrap up. When I got home, Kristina was starving, so we went out for a while then came home later and watched TV and took a nap. Then, later on, at midnight I finally check my e-mail to discover that there were plans to head out to Denny's tonight. *sigh* That sucks, because I normally check my mail religiously, but this morning I was in a hurry to try to get to the wedding and didn't check it. Tonight, I saw Ryan Lockhart and his brother Chris at EB. We talked for a few minutes, it was cool. If anybody likes cheap CDs, Goldman's Pawn Shop is selling a bunch loose (non-original cases, no inserts) for $2.99 each. There's a bunch of NIN singles, 80's, rap, etc. The guy told us that somebody pawned a couple of 200-disc changers (FULL), and never came back for them, so they took posession of the CDs as well. Tomorrow, Kristina is going to be working until the late afternoon, after which she will be spending some time with her friend Megan. If anybody wants to do anything today, give me a call.
