Taking a break from the Blog Service project today. I'll be judging Java entries at the Business Professionals of America District Tournament today at Ivy Tech, that is, as soon as I quit writing crap on here and get ready. Bates mentioned getting together and checking out some X-Box stuff after the tourney, so I guess we'll see how that goes. I hope they have yummy free food for the teachers and judges again. I'm starving (not literally of course).

Blog Project now ready for Phase 1 testing. What I need are a bunch of people to go and sign up to test out the signup process. Ignore the section about being charged, that's for later on. Follow all the instructions, read everything, and after you confirm your account, come back and test out the login/logout process. If everything goes smooth, leave a comment on this post. If something acts bizarre or unexpectedly, leave a comment on this post or you can e-mail me from the link on the left. Here is the address:

http://programmersunite.com/blog/index.php

Currently, the only things you can do are: sign up, confirm, login, and logout. The next part will be available in the next couple days. If you know of potential security problems, see if you can break the system or nab sensitive information. Otherwise, let me know how painful/painless your experience was signing up.

Thank you very much!

Quick update on blog project: The user creation system is almost complete. After that, I will be working on the blog creation phase. I'm estimating a total of 5-7 days. I will probably need some testers before that point (I'll contact you).

I moved the Blog to the new server today. I'm sure you noticed, or else you probably wouldn't have found this place. If you did not receive an e-mail notifying you that the page was moving, I also mentioned the new blog service I'm developing with a built-in comment/administration system (i.e. You can delete defamatory comments left by stragglers or idiots), and some picture storage. I will need testers, and if anybody is interested, please e-mail me using the link on the left.

Last night, Kristina and I decided to go see Mona Lisa Smile. This was an excellent movie, based on several criteria:

  • It avoided Hollywood-style plot twists
  • Soundtrack contained lots of interesting Classical pieces (including some from the composer of the opera Carmen, Hector Berlioz)
  • Very emotionally stirring in some parts
  • It only had 2 male starring roles
So yeah, it's a chick flick, sue me. But, it's a damn good one. Themes discussed: female oppression (not thrown in your face, but from the angle of women who embraced it?), infidelity, art, independence, marriage, and sexuality. There weren't any parts that would make a man feel uncomfortable (i.e. Rape or Domestic Violence), which is so common in the stereotypical chick flick. Kristina and I noticed that Julia Roberts is quite horrendous, and once again found ourselves wondering why people tend to fall all over her. Her acting was great in this movie, and the role was excellent. Visit this link for a movie trailer.

Before the show, we ate at Quizno's and saw Jeremy Winiger (unsure of spelling) with some guys that were helping him load and unload a washing machine, that he had just purchased from Lowe's. He came over and talked to us while we were waiting for our food, which was very nice of him. Mesquite Chicken with Bacon is the best sandwich, so don't forget it! Alright, gotta go cook some breakfast me thinks.

This site will be moving again to my domain, as soon as I give everybody the chance to see what the link will be. The link will be:

That last slash is important, the page will not load without it.
