Here's a reason NOT to own an SUV. Thanks to Dave Barry for finding that one.
Chinese Food... almost

Tonight I hung out with Scott, Josh, and Brian. We were at the Super Buffet (former BoBo's on Oak Hill and Morgan). I didn't eat though, because I was broke, but that's okay because Kristina and I went out later for some Arby's action. Mainly we yucked it up over video game stuff, and froze to death while standing outside to make the decision to go to the mall. Afterwards, we made an appearance at EB, the local geek-haven. It was fun, maybe next time we can hang out for a bit longer. BPA trip is only 20 days away... gonna be fun!

Geekiness and Generosity

First off, I'm a geek. I just finished doing a manual binary search on Blogtree to find out how many BlogTrees have been registered. If you haven't registered your blog yet, I encourage you to do so! Oh yeah, there are 9285 as of this writing. Now for the generosity part. It looks like I'll be paying for some of you to see the movie Spirited Away. You heard right. I'll be paying for 6 other people to see the movie. The reason? I have a rebate voucher for 8 people to see a movie on the same date. Whatever it costs, I will be completely reimbursed. Cool? Now the hard part... which 6 people? More than likely, it'll come down to whomever can actually make it.
Vampire Haiku

A while back, I decided to try my hand at a haiku about vampires. I don't think I know many poetry people, but feel free to comment. I can take good or bad critiques on my poetry, I promise! The result is as follows:
Creature of the night
Feasting on naive victims
Now fangs extended!
Inspired by the less serious: "I've Got a Fang" by: They Might Be Giants

I need your help!

Scott Cottingham from Kerasotes Theaters has dissed us once again! Please send him e-mail and ask him where our beloved Spirited Away is! Also, you can help me if you know of any good job leads. I'm actively looking for $10 or more per hour jobs, because I honestly can't make it on any less than that. In fact, I'm not making it now. I believe I have my resume in at over 20 places now, and have applied for a few local jobs over the internet on Monster.com. Help!

BrainBench Scores

Well, I took a couple of online certification tests last night, and I was quite pleased with my results. The tests I took were: Computer Technical Support, Computer Industry Knowledge, and Computer Fundamentals (Win 95/98). You can view my transcript if you like. Computer Industry Knowledge was kind of goofy, because it's questions about companies, and I don't really keep up on the business side of things much. On the other 2 tests, I am ranked number 1 in Indiana. Of those 2 tests, there were approximately 130 and 166 other test takers. I just want to know... When can I get a decent-paying job?! Actually, I plan on taking the Java tests soon. See you on the flip!

4 Year Anniversary

Yesterday was my 4 year anniversary with Kristina. I decided that I would take her to see the Singing Hoosiers at Kempf Auditorium (Mater Dei's auditorium). We attended the Lasagna Dinner beforehand with many older (read senior) IU alumni. Also present was Mayor Russell G. Lloyd Jr., who received an outstanding achievement award from the alumni association. The singers were great, they did songs from Moulin Rouge (an awesome musical I might add), South Pacific, and a few choice songs such as: Skylark and Stardust. The choreography was exciting because there was almost constant movement. I have to admit, it's the most riveted I've ever been at a choir performance. The performance was quite long and well worth the admission cost (free!).

I also just finished filing my taxes online (also for free) using FreeFile on H and R Block's homepage. If you're interested in FreeFile, visit the FreeFile link above. It will take you to the IRS's homepage. After visiting the H and R Block page, I realized they have it well-hidden from the public. Presumably in order to make more money. I didn't realize that I'd be getting so much money back, but it's not a mistake because this year I qualified for the Earned Income Credit (EIC). Well, that's all for this lengthy post. Sayonara!
